A lot of assignments to do and time is running out.\u00a0I think I will repeat it constantly during the year, but I never thought that classes would be as hard as this, with just two and a half weeks since we started. Not that I&#8217;m complaining, because I&#8217;m really happy with everything that the teachers are teaching us, and with the way that they do this. But even so&#8230; WOW! That&#8217;s hard, dude!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Anyway, the idea of this post is just to inform you more deeply about what is going on at classes, and to give some tips and show some pictures of the <em>GD25 Welcome Party<\/em>. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ok! Second week of classes and we had 7 assignments. 5 of them for the next week and the other 2 for almost the end of the month. One of those is for <em>Programming 1 Class<\/em> (BOOOOM!) Yeah, I will need to learn how to program. But what can I say with just one class of Programming that we had until now at VFS?\u00a0Absolutely, only one class at VFS was already better than all the programming classes that I had during my college years. Seriously! Although I still don&#8217;t know how to program, but at least I understand the logic of how it all works and things make more sense to me now. Hahaha! I hope I have patience for the next classes. LOL.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Don&#8217;t make much sense I quote what should be done in each one of the assignments, however among which are included assignments as in <em>Analog Game Theory<\/em> we need to create a 25-50 board game ideas and develop a basic concept of mechanics that turns around all them. As well as assignments related to classes of <em>Cinematics \/ Storyboard<\/em> with the 3 Act Structure of a Game. But what matters in this post is what tips you &#8211; as an International Student &#8211; can follow to try and get a higher performance in the classroom. So, here are some tips.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Classroom Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">For those who don&#8217;t have English as a native language, you should try to read the subject of the classes before you really get into it. Almost every class is available at your VFS Moodle before the class really starts. So, one tip is to download it and read at your place just to be easier to follow and understand everything during the real class;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It may be something stupid to emphasize here &#8211; especially because I can&#8217;t follow this tip faithfully every day &#8211; but the idea is you, even if you feel intimidated because of your inexperience with the English language, talk as much as possible with your classmates. The idea is to communicate and always take your doubts with the teachers, trying to ignore the fact that you may be missing a few words. We should always keep in mind that the VFS is a school with students from all around the World, so you are not the only one in this position;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Focus, Focus, Focus! Try to stay in focus during all the class. At the beginning it&#8217;s gonna be very hard and you will feel that everyday you return to your house even more tired. But I promise that with time your mind will get used to this mental exercise and will adapt;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Read as much as you can. Study as much as you can. Read all kinds of news from newspaper, magazine articles, or any other text that is on your way. This will improve your experience with the foreign language.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">And of course, enjoy the program. Enjoy yourself. And be creative.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>GD 25 Welcome Party<br \/>\n<\/strong>Last Friday, VFS with GD24, made a <em>GD25&#8217;s Welcome Party<\/em> to us. The aim of this party was to bring classmates together, with the previous Game Design Class. We were offered pizzas, cookies, chips and pop. We had also a lot of games to play and to compete, with a chance to win some prizes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.matheuspitillo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/vfs_welcomeparty.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1030\" title=\"vfs_welcomeparty\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matheuspitillo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/vfs_welcomeparty.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"530\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.matheuspitillo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/vfs_welcomeparty.jpg 2070w, https:\/\/www.matheuspitillo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/vfs_welcomeparty-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.matheuspitillo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/vfs_welcomeparty-1024x686.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Between the games were included <em>Mario Kart Double Dash<\/em>, <em>Halo 3<\/em>, <em>Super Street Fighter 4<\/em> and everyone\u2019s favourite <em>Super Smash Bros Melee<\/em>. Um monte de assignments para entregar e o tempo est\u00e1 passando. Eu acho que vou acabar repetindo isso constantemente durante esse ano, mas eu nunca imaginei que as aulas fossem ser t\u00e3o pesadas assim, com apenas duas semanas e meia que iniciamos na escola. N\u00e3o que eu esteja reclamando, porque eu estou muito feliz com tudo que os professores vem nos ensinando e, com a maneira que eles fazem isso. Mas mesmo assim&#8230; WOW! \u00c9 bem dif\u00edcil, cara!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De qualquer forma, a id\u00e9ia desse post \u00e9 apenas para informar de maneira mais aprofundada o que vem acontecendo nas nossas aulas e, poder passar algumas dicas e postar fotos da <em>GD25 Welcome Party<\/em>. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ok! Segunda semana de aulas e n\u00f3s j\u00e1 tivemos 7 assignments. 5 deles para a pr\u00f3xima semana e os outros 2 para mais ou menos o fim do m\u00eas. Um desses \u00e9 para a aula de <em>Programming 1<\/em> (BOOOOM!) Sim, eu vou ter que aprender como programar. Mas o que eu posso dizer com apenas uma aula de Programa\u00e7\u00e3o que tivemos at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o na VFS? Absolutamente, apenas uma \u00fanica aula na VFS j\u00e1 valeu muito mais que todas as aulas de programa\u00e7\u00e3o que eu tive nos meus anos de faculdade. S\u00e9rio! Mesmo ainda n\u00e3o sabendo como programar, eu pelo menos agora consigo entender a l\u00f3gica por tr\u00e1s disso e como as coisas funcionam. Tudo faz mais sentido agora. HAHAHA! Espero conseguir manter a paci\u00eancia para as pr\u00f3ximas aulas que vir\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">N\u00e3o faz muito sentido eu citar o que deve ser feito em cada um dos assignments, por\u00e9m entre eles est\u00e3o inclusos assignments como das aulas de <em>Analog Game Theory<\/em>, em que precisamos criar 25-50 id\u00e9ias para jogos de tabuleiro e desenvolver um conceito b\u00e1sico de mec\u00e2nica que gira em torno delas. Como tamb\u00e9m assignments relacionados com a aula de <em>Cinematics \/ Storyboard<\/em> com o 3 Act Structure de um jogo. Mas o que realmente importa nesse post s\u00e3o quais dicas voc\u00ea &#8211; como um estudante Internacional &#8211; pode seguir para conseguir uma maior performance em sala de aula. Ent\u00e3o aqui est\u00e3o algumas dicas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dicas para sala de aula<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Para aqueles que n\u00e3o t\u00eam o Ingl\u00eas como a l\u00edngua nativa, voc\u00ea deveria tentar ler o conte\u00fado das aulas antes mesmo de participar das mesmas. Quase todas as aulas est\u00e3o dispon\u00edveis no VFS Moodle antes que as aulas realmente come\u00e7am. Ent\u00e3o, uma dica seria fazer o download desses PDFs e l\u00ea-los em sua casa, apenas para facilitar a compreens\u00e3o e o acompanhamento durante a aula;<\/li>\n<li>Pode parecer algo est\u00fapido de enfatizar aqui &#8211; at\u00e9 porque eu mesmo n\u00e3o consigo seguir essa minha dica diariamente &#8211; mas a id\u00e9ia \u00e9 voc\u00ea, mesmo que voc\u00ea se sinta intimidado por causa da sua inexperi\u00eancia com o idioma Ingl\u00eas, conversar o m\u00e1ximo poss\u00edvel com seus colegas de sala. Voc\u00ea deve se comunicar e sempre tirar as suas d\u00favidas com os professores, tentando ignorar o fato de que talvez voc\u00ea esteja perdendo alguma informa\u00e7\u00e3o importante ou outra. N\u00f3s temos que sempre ter em mente que a VFS \u00e9 uma escola com alunos que vieram de toda parte do Mundo, ent\u00e3o voc\u00ea deve lembrar que voc\u00ea n\u00e3o \u00e9 o \u00fanico nessa mesma situa\u00e7\u00e3o;<\/li>\n<li>Foco, Foco, Foco! Tente se manter em foco durante todas as aulas. No come\u00e7o essa tarefa pode parecer muito dif\u00edcil e voc\u00ea se sentir\u00e1 muito cansado todo dia quando voltar pra casa depois das aulas. Mas eu prometo que com o tempo a sua mente ir\u00e1 se acostumar com esse exerc\u00edcio mental e voc\u00ea conseguir\u00e1 se adaptar;<\/li>\n<li>Leia o m\u00e1ximo que voc\u00ea conseguir. Estude o m\u00e1ximo que voc\u00ea conseguir. Leia todos os tipos de not\u00edcias de jornal, artigos de revista ou qualquer outro texto que aparecer pelo seu caminho. Assim voc\u00ea poder\u00e1 melhorar a sua qualidade de compreens\u00e3o da l\u00edngua estrangeira;<\/li>\n<li>E, claro, desfruta-se do curso. Divirta-se. E seja criativo!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>GD25 Welcome Party<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong>\nNa \u00faltima Sexta-Feira, VFS com GD24, fizeram a <em>GD25&#8217;s Welcome Party<\/em> para n\u00f3s. O objetivo dessa festa foi para unir os colegas de classe ainda mais, tanto entre n\u00f3s mesmos, quanto com os alunos da turma anterior de Game Design. Al\u00e9m disso foi oferecido a n\u00f3s pizzas, cookies, salgadinhos e refrigerantes. Tivemos tamb\u00e9m v\u00e1rios jogos para jogarmos e competirmos, com chance de ganhar alguns pr\u00eamios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Entre os jogos na festa, estavam presentes jogos como <em>Mario Kart Double Dash, Halo 3, Super Street Fighter<\/em> 4 e o favorito de todo mundo: <em>Super Smash Bros Melee<\/em>. E para os jogos tradicionais n\u00f3s tamb\u00e9m tivemos jogos de tabuleiro e um Campeonato de<em> Magic<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Provavelmente a minha frequ\u00eancia de post na categoria <em>Life at VFS<\/em> vai diminuir um pouco.
