Long time I did not update here, hum? Everyday I was promising to myself that I will update the website, but we have just three more days in Term 01 and we still need to submit four more assignments. And as much as I love posting here, this year my main priority continues to be my focus in the program. Anyway, I have at least 6 different posts ideas that I still want to post here, so let’s start to update everything. For now, VFS Pitch & Play Night – GD20.

In the last 7th February at VFS, the students of GD20 presented their final project to the other students and probably people from the game industry. I can’t say exactly name of game companies or something like that, because I really don’t know who were there. What I saw was the practice time to the real Pitch & Play Night. They will have a second moment of presentation in a closed event, with a professional presentations to a specific group of people and industries.

VFS Game Design Pitch & Play Night is probably the most important night for us, VFS Students. In that night students present their final games that they have spent the last 4 months designing and developing. The students were excited to share their hard work, looking forward to having experienced game industry people review and provide feedback on what they have presented.

GD20 presented 6 different games. In sequence, the games presented were: Daru, In Plain Sight, Zombie-Kiri, Forget Me Not Annie, Falling to Pieces and Remnant.

Daru
First of the six games presented in that night, Daru is a 2D action platforming-fighter game set in an alternate universe of turn of the century Japan. The game is focused on combat mechanics and verticality. In my opinion this game was the one which caused more impact on me.

The art direction, colours and scenarios are awesome.

GD20 apresentou 6 diferentes jogos. Em sequência, os jogos apresentados foram: Daru, In Plain Sight, Zombie-Kiri, Forget Me Not Annie, Falling to Pieces e Remnant.

Daru

In Plain Sight

Forget Me Not Annie
Desenvolvido por Anthony Butler, Brandon Dolinski, George H Charles, and Vlad Volynine.

Falling to Pieces
