I need to start saying how tired I am. And it was JUST ONE WEEK. When we read that Game Design Program is a full time program, I didn&#8217;t realize that its gonna be so &#8220;full&#8221; like this. Some days we have classes starting at 9h00am and ending just 9h30pm. Oh yeah! That makes me think that maybe sometimes I will take more time to update my site here, because of all assignments that I&#8217;ll need to do&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first class started at GD Design Theatre and it was <strong>Game Production Class<\/strong>. <em>Dave Warfield<\/em> &#8211; the Head of Game Design Program and also\u00a0one of the teachers of this class, with <em>Olivia Bogacki<\/em> &#8211; explained how classes are gonna be and showed every term, in a total of 6, and every subject that we will learn during this long year of classes. \u00a0Until now during the firsts terms we need to take all areas of game development, even if you don&#8217;t want to work with programming, for example.\u00a0But\u00a0at a certain time, we can select\u00a0two\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0four main areas\u00a0of our interest and\u00a0move on,\u00a0focusing only\u00a0on them. I will explain better latter, at the correct moment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dave explained a quick History of the Games with their evolution and then asked us which game influenced us to want to work with game development. I could have said\u00a0that the\u00a0idea of creating a game art as<em> Shadow of the\u00a0Colossus<\/em>,\u00a0or all\u00a0of <em>Team\u00a0ICO<\/em>\u00a0game, always\u00a0influenced me.\u00a0But my answer\u00a0was the\u00a0game\u00a0<em>Resident\u00a0Evil\u00a02<\/em>, since it actually fits\u00a0better with\u00a0the question.\u00a0I remember\u00a0when I played\u00a0the game, at a young age,\u00a0I wondered\u00a0how\u00a0it would be to work with it and\u00a0to create something\u00a0as impressive as the\u00a0games are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After that,\u00a0<em>Olivia Bogacki<\/em> explained about Project Plan, Pre-Production, Production, Alpha, Beta etc. It was an amazing class with a lot of information to learn. Olivia and Dave are great teachers for sure.\u00a0The way that\u00a0Dave\u00a0talked about\u00a0the program and how\u00a0we should\u00a0study hard\u00a0to achieve\u00a0our goals\u00a0is\u00a0always\u00a0a\u00a0good thing\u00a0to hear.\u00a0He\u00a0really knows how\u00a0to cheer us\u00a0and make us believe we can achieve\u00a0what we seek.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class='et-box et-info'>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><strong>Important Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I decided to explain here in my website all Terms Overview and the classes that I will be learning during these next months, but I need to say that\u00a0I will not show everything that we will see at classes, because I think this is against the rules of school. I can&#8217;t just show all that we are seeing in class, as it is a particular school etc. So, all that I can show is an overview about all that I will be seeing, but never presenting .ppt&#8217;s or other kinds of documents related with our subjects. I hope everyone can understand why I&#8217;m doing this way.<\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Term 01 &#8211; Overview<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;The first term exposes you to the essentials of the field starting with an industry overview in game production, and establishing fundamentals of game theory, pre-production techniques, and storytelling. It&#8217;s incredible how huge and organized the campus is inside. They have a big green screen room, and two different rooms with the old video games and the newest of this generation. To have access to all floors, elevator and some of the rooms, we need to use our access card. The school provides to us in the first day of class. All the teachers told us the famous games that they worked on with some major game companies, and we can see that they\u00a0are special teachers with great knowledgeable to teach us. For the next week we already have a assignment for Game Theory Analog class, that by the way is huge. Preciso iniciar dizendo o qu\u00e3o cansado eu estou. E isso foi APENAS A PRIMEIRA SEMANA! Quando n\u00f3s lemos que o Programa de Game Design seria em tempo integral, eu nunca imaginaria que seria t\u00e3o &#8220;integral&#8221; assim. Alguns dias n\u00f3s temos aulas que come\u00e7am as 9h00 da manh\u00e3 e s\u00f3 terminam as 21h30 da noite. Oh yeah! Isso me faz pensar que talvez eu possa demorar um pouco mais para atualizar meu site por aqui daqui algum tempo&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A primeira aula aconteceu no GD Design Theatre e foi aula de <strong>Game Production<\/strong>. <em>Dave Warfield<\/em> &#8211; o criador do curso de Game Design da VFS e, tamb\u00e9m professor dessa aula junto com<em> Olivia Bogacki<\/em> &#8211; explicou como ser\u00e3o as aulas e nos mostrou cada uma das mat\u00e9rias que n\u00f3s aprenderemos durante esse longo ano de estudos, em um total de 6 terms. Por enquanto durante os primeiros terms do curso, n\u00f3s pegaremos aulas relacionadas a todas as \u00e1reas de desenvolvimento de games, mesmo que voc\u00ea n\u00e3o queira trabalhar com programa\u00e7\u00e3o, por exemplo. Mas a partir de um certo momento n\u00f3s poderemos escolher duas das quatro \u00e1reas principais do nosso interesse e focar apenas nelas. De qualquer forma eu estarei explicando isso mais tarde, no momento certo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dave explicou rapidamente a hist\u00f3ria dos games e sua evolu\u00e7\u00e3o e, em seguida, nos perguntou qual jogo que nos influenciou na escolha de trabalhar com desenvolvimento de games. Olivia e Dave s\u00e3o com certeza professores excelentes. A maneira que Dave sempre fala sobre o curso e como ser\u00e1 importante que estudemos bastante para alcan\u00e7ar nossas metas durante esse ano, \u00e9 algo legal de se ouvir. Ele realmente sabe como animar a turma e fazer com que n\u00f3s acreditemos que poderemos conquistar o que queremos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class='et-box et-info'>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><strong>Importante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eu decidi explicar por aqui no meu site todos os resumos de todos os terms do curso e as mat\u00e9rias que estaremos aprendendo durante esses pr\u00f3ximos meses, mas eu preciso dizer que eu n\u00e3o estarei mostrando tudo que veremos em classe, porque acredito que isso seria de alguma forma contra as regras da escola. Eu n\u00e3o posso apenas chegar aqui e apresentar o que estamos aprendendo por completo, j\u00e1 que a VFS \u00e9 uma escola particular etc. Sendo assim, tudo que eu poderei mostrar \u00e9 um resumo de tudo que eu ando vendo semanalmente, mas nunca disponibilizando os .ppt&#8217;s ou qualquer outro tipo de documento relacionado as mat\u00e9rias da escola. Eles possuem um monte de salas de aula, computadores, games, televisores, equipamentos (&#8230;) Em todos os lugares em cada parede do campus, podemos ver fotos dos outros alunos das antigas turmas de GD, como os seus jogos produzidos na VFS e os jogos que eles j\u00e1 trabalharam nas maiores empresas de games de todo o mundo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O Campus tem 5 andares e quase todas as nossas aulas do Term 01 s\u00e3o no 3 \u00ba andar. Para ter acesso a todos os pisos, elevador e algumas das salas, precisamos usar o nosso cart\u00e3o de acesso. A escola fornece para n\u00f3s no primeiro dia de aula. E agora, no final da primeira semana, eles nos deram o nosso cart\u00e3o de ID tamb\u00e9m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ap\u00f3s o tour, fomos ensinados como funciona o sistema online VFS e nosso acesso ao Moodle, e-mail estudantil e outras ferramentas do sistema. No Moodle n\u00f3s podemos baixar todo o conte\u00fado e apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o que tivemos em cada uma das aulas e, tamb\u00e9m no site, enviamos nossos trabalhos semanais para os professores. Todos os professores disseram-nos os jogos famosos em que trabalharam com algumas empresas grandes, e podemos ver que eles s\u00e3o professores especiais e muito bem preparados para nos ensinar.
