PRINCIPAL GAME DESIGNER

Hey there! I'm Matheus, an experienced Game Designer with 17+ years in the industry, nearly a decade in Lead and Principal roles. Working across different genres, both first-party and co-development, I have developed a great understanding of Systems Design, with a focus on Progression and Gameplay Systems, Core Gameplay Loops, Meta game, Economy and Behaviour systems.

Previous works include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking full ownership of different Gameplay Systems, including a number of Player Progression and Economy Systems;
  • Leading and Mentoring multi-disciplinary team of Designers;
  • Leading the Creative Brief Pitch Team with the goal to present and close deals with external partners for new project opportunities, or new mandates for existing ones;
  • Establishing and owning Design documentation best practices;
  • Designing, prototyping and integrating gameplay systems, NPC behaviours and routines, Save Preset Assets and character abilities.
  • Level Design/Mission Design experience, from concept, paper layout, defining mechanics, to final and scripted level blockout.
